Note to self: Do not attempt to do any more cartwheels.

I am such an idiot. I knew better. But, I did it anyway. Well, I mean, I think I wouldn’t have gone through with it, but then Michelle said she was gonna turn a cartwheel, too.  So, what else could I do? Let her be injured alone? I think not!

We were at church. It was after the service was over and everyone was gone (you’ll be relieved to hear.)  Well, I mean, everyone was gone except for the people who are gluttons for ministry work. And afterall, the middle aisle in the sanctuary made such a fabulous runway for my…ummm…floor routine.

Hmph!  I bet Michelle’s not even sore right now. Unlike myself, she probably doesn’t hurt now when she shrugs her shoulders. (Can’t wait to see how I’ll feel tomorrow morning since it’s this bad a mere six hours after I pulled this stunt. Hhhhhhhh!)  I’m sure Michelle probably gets more exercise than I do, and therefore she was almost certainly in better shape for our impromptu amateur gymnastics routine.

Well, frankly, anyone who’s work out is more intense than that of lifting a fork to the lips and back to the plate (several reps), has got my fitness routine topped.

Pass the bon-bons.

[…] wish I had some idea of what I did to get myself in this shape. (No, I wasn’t turning cartwheels. Terry will be home by midnight he thinks from Atlanta. He said his conference has been great. […]

What were you thinking? Living life large does not mean turning flips in the isles of the church. Oh to be a child again… wouldn’t it be nice. On second thought, I would not want to deal with the things our kids have to deal with these days. My heart goes out to your oldest, we had our share of that too in middle school. High school has been better for Lu and I think being in a bigger school has been easier too. I’ve only got one more year to lament over her high school days and that makes me sad. Look at it this way, what doesn’t kill them, makes them stronger.

Okay – had to chime in. Trace, for the love of all that is good, that kinda stuff has gotta stop. Alright, so now I sound like your momma. But I’ve got a few years on ya’, and I too have learned the hard way.

These days, I look at myself and realize just how fragile this ‘ol bod for God really is. Recently, Chetch attempted to “ride my back” – you know, let her hop on then prance around the house??!! Forget it – despite the fact she is tall and weighs less than me these days – that girlfriend will not ride my back like a bucking bronco.

I have fear of spending time in Dr. Moore’s chiropractic office, like Joe did just last year after he had a “golf swing go bad” – causing him weeks of treatment and no sleep. No no – not this one.

If I could, I’d walk around in one of those protective bubbles. If there is any chance of pulling, straining, stretching or breaking anything in this bod of mine, I ain’t playin’.

Now, with that said – as for “lifting a fork” thing – pass the lard and the biscuits m’am.
