bumper cars

I cannot believe I didn’t blog this yesterday. Really, it’s shameful that I didn’t blog this on SUNDAY, despite the fact that I so far have not been much for blogging on the weekends. But, I MUST tell of the miraculous thing that occurred Sunday.

Terry and Maggie and I were getting off the interstate heading for a garden shop to pick out more flowers for the front flower beds. We were waiting in a line of traffic on the deceleration ramp….waiting for the light to turn green. And, the light did turn green. The traffic began to move. But, then the traffic came to a sudden stop. We were able to get our vehicle stopped on time. But, unfortunately, the woman behind us obviously wasn’t paying attention. We heard her brakes squeel, and then she hit us. And, folks, it wasn’t a just a tap. She hit us so hard my teeth clanged together from the surprise impact. And, with my teeth, it’s a miracle they didn’t all snap off. (Teeth like chalk.)  So, Terry was driving. He calmly got out of the car and walked around back. I looked back over my shoulder and watched the woman in the car behind us walking around to the front of her vehicle. She was just-a-talking, and smiling, and shaking her head over it all.  Then I saw her look down at my bumper.  It looked to me like she was saying “Ewwwwwww!” I thought, Oh me. Must be pretty bad. Then she looked back at her car. Terry looked back and forth from both the cars. Then comes the best part. I saw Terry and this woman smile, shake their heads in disbelief, and HIGH-FIVE.

There was NOTHING, y’all. Not a scratch. Not a dent. Her bumper was white. Our bumper is red. There wasn’t even so much as any transfer of paint between the two cars.

God is good all the time. ALL THE TIME, God is soooooooo good.
