daddy daily volume 11

Daddy slept all day long Friday. In fact, he had MUCH attention while he slept because no one could seem to get him awake. He finally was able to hold his eyes open a little towards supper time. And, Mama fed him. He was VERY hungry and ate almost everything on his plate. (Well, he should’ve been hungry. He slept through breakfast and lunch!) He also slept through the physical therapist’s visit and the cardiologist’s visit. They will not be dosing Ativan anymore. Therefore, we can look for the agitation level to be up considerably, as well as the number of attempted code purples. (That there’s hospital-talk for patient attempting to escape, folks.) Me and Maw’s pert near-experts on medical jargin like that, now. That’s on accounta Paw’s been schemin’ and plannin’ covert escape missions with us since his second trip to ICU. He gets really upset when we have to tell him we can NOT be counted in on his plans to skip out.
The goal right now from a cardiology standpoint is to wean him off of all his heart related meds and then find a better pharmaceutical selection in order to get his blood pressure lower and his pulse rate higher, day in/day out! And, then there should be a transfer BACK to the rehab floor for physical, occupational, and speech therapy again.
And THAT’s all we learned new on Friday.

JR is already an experienced escape artist; after all he escaped from Calhoun County! Be ever vigilant.

the day of sleep may have been good for him, you know he has got to be worn out from trying to figure out how to escape. maybe
you will see some progress now that he is well rested.

You and your mother had better watch scheming to help JR escape. Homeland Security will be breathing down your neck. bqm
