daddy daily volume 17

This morning Daddy greeted Mama with the words, “Hey Babe!” when she entered his room this morning. He had eaten some of his breakfast, but Mama was able to get him to eat MORE of it. And, he ate well at lunch time.
Mama’s sister Robbie and her husband, Paul, and their fourth son, Kenneth, came up to visit today as well as Mama’s sister Ann! Unlike yesterday, Daddy was somewhat conversational. Kenneth asked Daddy, “J.R., do you know who I am?” Daddy said, “Yep.” Kenneth said, “Who am I?” And Daddy said, “Kevin”. (Well, he was close, Kevin is Kenneth’s older brother, and there is a strong resemblance.) But, that does kinda make me wonder if there are some vision issues, too. Because, there is no doubt that Daddy knows each of his nephews well, and would not normally confuse any of them. But, I guess it could have just been a mis-speak.
Daddy’s pulse rate was low again. And, he was talking about wanting to get out of bed again today. That makes me nervous. But, regarding the pulse rate drop, Daddy’s cardiologist will be in tomorrow morning.
And, Daddy’s little sister Janette will be visiting all day Monday and Tuesday!
On Tuesday the neurologist will remove the shunt that was surgically installed May 16th. I am guessing they’ll try a different kind of shunt next. But, I haven’t heard anything about it being done the same time as they remove the first shunt. So, once again, I’ll let y’all know something as soon as I know something to tell!
I’ll close today with the words of a song I was asked to sing in church this morning:
When I thinnk I’m going under, part the waters, Lord.
When I feel the waves around me, calm the seas!
When I cry for help, oh hear me Lord! And hold out Your hand!
Touch my life! Still the raging storm in me.
…Yeah, I’m wondering how I managed to get through singing those lyrics myself. But, they’re powerful, aren’t they? And, so is our GOD.
Entry filed under: daddy daily, pray for....

Tracey,
I had to check your blog again before going to the doctor this morning, and I’ll be missing prayer group at church. Praying for good news, my friend. Trust and believe, Carol

Thanks for the update. Words of the song are beautiful and very true. Our Church remembered him in prayer again yesterday as we will continue to do. God bless you and your family.

Keep clinging to those words Tracey, or rather keep clinging to the One they’re about! I love you and wish there was something I could say or do to make things better for you and your family, but all I can do is pray. You have sooooo many people praying for your dad and I believe that God is going to be glorified in all of this and through all of this. Hope you have a good week.
((Hugs))
