daddy daily volume 20

Okay, we are all beat like a drum and everybody’s hitting the sack. But I had to update you!!!!
First of all, nothing has changed with Louie. And, because everybody was so exhausted after this lonnnnnnnnnng day, they called to check on him and got the news of “no changes” from the nurse.  They decided to wait and go down there to Oxford tomorrow morning instead after a night’s rest.
My daddy has had what has been nothing less than a MIRACULOUS day! He has been converstional. He has fed himself lunch and supper! And he has stood up out of the bed for the first time in fourteen days. He wanted to use the toilet in the bathroom but they wouldn’t let him. INstead they got him a bedside commode. ANd he used that successfully. When the nurse told him she was afraid he couldn’t get all the way to the bathroom and that she might not be able to support him if he couldn’t make it, and said, “Well, I just know you haven’t been out of bed for fourteen days.”  Mama said Daddy turned and looked at Mama as if to say (that’s not right…is she crazy?…)  And Mama said, “James Robert, you’ve been in the hospital for 43 days.” Mama said the look on his face was of shock and confusion. And that he sighed as if to say wow…that’s unbelievable. But it was like he had no idea.
Mama said when she was getting ready to go, she said she was glad he ate so well and was he full. He said he was. And Mama said that she hadn’t eaten since seven this morning and that she was starving! And Daddy said with shock, “Well I guess YOU ARE! It’s six fifteen!!” And Mama looked at the clock, and sure enough, he’d read what time it was from the clock on the wall.
Also, he had visitors from a schools where he taught, and he called one of them by name when they came in. They all talked. Daddy was cordial and converational. But, did fall asleep at some point.
Anyhow, it has been an AMAZING day. Completely miraculous!
Tomorrow Mama tours a skilled nursing home that is well respected in the area. Someone from the facility came to visit her today and said they have a bed and that Daddy has been accepted. Mama wanted to check it out first, of course. But, they may have placement tomorrow. Daddy doesnt know yet that he’s about to be transferred to skilled nursing. But, Mama said she’s gonna present this as a time of rehab. And hopefully, based on today’s incredible progress, that may be all he’ll need and will actually get to come home one day soon afterall! Praise God for this day!
Please continue your prayers! God is moving!

Isn’t it amazing that medicine prescribed to help in time of need, befuddles the mind and misses spans of time? This has been a good news-bad news week for the Malones. I don’t know how you all are still standing, but then again YES, I DO! Folks may call it adrenalin, but we know the real Truth … the Maker of that adrenalin who lifts you up again! Prayers continue for you and yours to strengthen you in mind, body, and spirit as you seek heavenly wisdom over earthly wisdom.

God is so very good…. this should be an indicator to anyone who doubts that prayer works…. I know this is such a blessing….

What a glorious day indeed! Sounds better than we have heard for a long time. Just perhaps the withdrawal of some medication may have helped. Whatever the reason everyone has reason to be thankful. Prayers are continuing.
