Terry’s daddy is in hospice care in a VA skilled nursing facility. Hospice called yesterday to say that Louie’s breathing has changed. (As I recall, those are the exact same words that hospice used when the call came about Terry’s mother years ago.)
So yesterday afternoon Terry and his brother and sister drove to the nursing facility. They stayed til one in the morning but did finally come home. Terry said his dad is breathing about two breaths each minute. So, it definitely sounds like the end is drawing near.
But, they came back because Terry’s brother’s wife, (Sharon)’s, brother passed away from lung cancer on Sunday. So, everyone wanted to be near Sharon during this time, too. The funeral is today and Terry will be doing half of it along with a local pastor.
So, the plan right now for today is: visitation 1-3, funeral at 3, then graveside. And, then Terry and his sibblings will leave to go be at Louie’s side.
Hhhhhhhhhh! Has this been a week or what?
Entry filed under: pray for..., the daily grind.

Please express my sympathy to Terry and his family. I have been down that road.
