Hello all! I pray you all had a delightful weekend! We really had a nice one! On Saturday we went and got Mama (on her birthday), and took her to The Longhorn for birthday lunch. Everything was completely delicious. Then she’d wanted to drive out to Germantown and see a city wide art exhibit where local artisans had creatively decorated sculptures of horses. So, we got ourselves a map of where they are, and were able to see many of them. We plan to go back on October 1st when all of the horses will be “corralled” for easy viewing in one place. Then we went to Tom and Susan’s house for a cheeseburger supper, and had two football games going two different places in the house. Had a lovely visit! It was a really nice day.

On Sunday, Terry got up and went to church, of course, but the girls and I managed to oversleep too long to even make the 11 o’clock service (looking decent). So we skipped.  I went over to Mama’s and picked her up, and we drove down to visit with Daddy. He was in much better shape than he has been. He greeted us with a very joyful, “HEY GIRLS!!!!” when we walked in, and then he told Mama when she reached his bedside, “Ohhh, my angel has arrived!” He was very calm. He was able to say a few things we could understand. His speech is still difficult to understand much of the time.  I think it bothers him that he doesn’t feel like he’s accomplishing anything…he’s not DOING anything. Daddy is a get up and go kinda guy. So, it’s hard for him to not be getting up and going anymore.  At one point he asked Mama what she was going to do tomorrow. She said she had some laundry to get done, etc.   She then asked him what he thought he’d do tomorrow. And he said, “Ohh, I think I’ll stay here.”  He seemed very calm about that notion; not upset at all.  I asked him if he’d like to sing. He said that’d be good. So, he listened while Mama and I sang 8 or 9 old time gospel songs to him, and a couple of newer ones. Then he fell asleep, and we went home.  It was a good visit.                                   When I got home I took Jessye shopping out in Collierville. The seventies temps and slight breeze made it such a perfect shopping day for the outside mall through which hich we were meandering. She had a really good coupon to one of her favorite stores, and it would’ve expired after yesterday. So, she got to use that coupon. We also ran over to Bath and Body Works and picked up some hand soaps and I got some new perfume. They’re new fragrance, “Black Amethyst” is marvelous. Love it! And, it works well with my favorite essential oil which I’ve worn since I was nineteen.  (Something old with something new!)  Oh, and also…They have a new fragrance that I really loved, but did not buy because I didn’t think Terry would wear it, even though it smells more masculine to me than it did feminine…It is NOT touted as cologne for men. But, it’s really yummy, and I wish Terry WOULD wear it!  I mean, it could probably be marketed as one of those scents that a man OR a woman could wear… like CK ONE. But, they didn’t market it that way, and it has the word blossom in the title, so, I know he won’t wear it. That would be a deal breaker for Terry. But it’s got the scent of COFFEE and SATIN WOOD and yes, a touch of vanilla. Now keep in mind, that there’s something about it that reminds me a little of Obsession for men. And LOTS and LOTS of men wear that. But, man o man!  That coffee and wood scent combo is just out of this world!  Well, anyway, go sniff it for yourself at Bath and Body Works.  It’s called Java Blossom.  See what YOU think. Jessye and I both thought it would great for a man. Yum!
