another sort of mother

A friend of mine has the following quote as part of her signature on her email messages:
“A mother is a person who seeing there are only four pieces of pie for five people, promptly announces she never did care for pie.” —Tenneva Jordan
I, on the other hand am another sort of mother.
I am the sort of mother who sees that there are only four pieces of pie, and there are five people:
Therefore, I would cut each slice of pie into two smaller slices so that everybody could have 1.6 of the newly sliced portions. = ) Come on now! I figure, I made the PIE, after all. No sense in ME going hungry just ‘cause SOMEBODY got into it before I could get it to the table!
HELLO??? Can I get a witness?
